It could be natural causes, I rolled with the invocation of the worst case. If it were, even more should we rally!....Either there is a God, or there is not. If there is, then it is reasonable to suppose that the dominion of man is ordained, because we are "in His image". If there is not, then who cares what your dog thinks (by the way, on this point, it is safe to say nothing), because we are free to impose our own values (as a species) on the world, values which, if we are healthy and full of vitality, celebrate the "human difference", our ability to speculate, discover, invent, create, build, above all creatures. Either way, "animal egalitarianism" is merely sentimental...
