We've done okay, I reckon. Pretty messy at times. "Wise stewardship" would nessitate not putting "economic progress" first all the time, imo. Or, even, putting ourselves first all the time.

If you are a christian, would you sacrifice yourself rather than destroy the earth that your god created? Heck, he sacrificed his son, didn't he?

Clear-cutting old growth forests, and rain forests isn't wise stewardship. Poisoning the ground, water and air isn't wise stewardship. Fishing until there are too few fish left to keep the schools alive isn't wise stewardship. Isn't it interesting that the people who do these things are the ones who harp on "dominion"?
