"I also found this 1985 reference to a 32,000 foot Oklahoma dry-hole called "Bertha Rogers" as the oldest well ever drilled:"

Moho was drilled off the coast of Hawaii at a depth of near 50,000'. I am giving this info from memory, but I am pretty sure it's accurate. It's not the technological feasibility that's a problem, but the twisted theological motivation and thinking. Since modern Israel was establised on rabbinical theological phantasies, why shouldn't the "Christian Zionist" also push for the fulfillment of their own whimsical dreams.

You may be right, seems like I read the deepest producing well was around 25,000 feet. But still the pressure at that depth is incredible, the wear and tear on the equipment and the impact of that pressure on the down hole equipment would be challenging to say the least. If they were able to hit oil it would probably be coming out ground at a most impressive rate if it could even be controlled at all.

I suppose it can be done, but I cant imagine a $30,000,000 drill into an area that is at best... unreliable in past tests.
