The General Store Launches Cyber-Grocery Market

REDMOND, Wash., Aug 24, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The General Store
International Corp. (OTC BB: GSIC) launched its first interactive online
grocery market today for service in the Vancouver area, at
www.genstore.com.

According to The General Store President and CEO Glen Easthope, the
site, which went "live" today, allows consumers to complete their
entire grocery shopping from the convenience of their home or office.
"This is another major strategic and integral step in executing the
Company's business growth plans," Easthope said.

"Our goal for 1999 has been the expansion of area franchises across
North America and advancements in the technology offered to our
customers," Easthope said. "Our business is a marriage between the
charm of old-fashioned customer service and the convenience of the
internet and other technologies that expedite the time-consuming
process of grocery shopping for those with busy lifestyles, seniors and
the disabled population."

Visitors to The General Store's new online site are also presented with
a link to an outside firm that offers its customers free internet
service.

The General Store, which recently launched a Point-of-Sale Program that
allows credit and ATM cards to be processed right at the customer's
front door in a matter of seconds, plans to offer an interactive online
site with the Point-of-Sale Program in US markets soon.

"Vancouver, BC is the initial test market, with expansion into the
State of Washington and Utah to follow quickly," Easthope said. "The
official Grand Opening Launch date for online use is September 9,
1999."

A pioneer in online shopping, The General Store International
Corporation provides convenient competitively priced shopping
solutions, "online vs. in-line." With its unique ordering and
distribution system for grocery products, customers can shop from the
comfort of their homes through the internet, a color print catalog,
CD-ROM catalog, telephone, fax or an e-commerce site. All grocery
products are delivered to the customer's front door.

The General Store has also developed a proprietary technology
CARAT(TM)DVD-TV/PC system, which is an evolution in online shopping for
both the general population and for the 9 million blind and disabled
consumers across North America.

The General Store International Corporation would like to further
acknowledge the unique and custom design work developed by E-Com
Technologies Corp. for The General Store's new online ordering system.

The General Store International Franchise Sales "Above Expectations"

REDMOND, Wash., Aug 25, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- In two short months,
following the approval for The General Store International Corp. (GSIC:
OTC BB) expansion into the State of Washington, the Company announced
today that they have sold their FIRST TWENTY (20) FRANCHISES for the
Seattle area.

The Company received approval of its UFOC (Uniform Franchise Offering
Circular) application to the State of Washington on June 10, 1999, and
management has since been presenting the business opportunity to
Seattle entrepreneurs with a highly positive response.

"With twenty franchise documents signed in about 1 1/2 months, I can
conservatively say that the reception in the Seattle market has met and
even exceeded our expectations," said Glen Easthope, President and CEO
of The General Store International. "Our goal is to complete 50
franchise sales in Seattle as soon as possible, and we are well on our
way."

A franchise with The General Store gives an individual a region
(neighborhood of 500 homes) or multiple regions for the exclusive sale
and service of home delivery groceries and products, utilizing The
General Store (www.genstore.com) service and online proprietary
shopping software.

After responding to various advertisements, potential franchisees are
invited to attend a company-sponsored presentation, after which they
are encouraged to apply to become a new franchisee.

Seattle is the first expansion of The General Store's original model.
With completion and compliance of the UFOC in the States of Washington
and Utah, The General Store is also eligible to offer franchises in
most states, including: Arizona, Massachusetts, Montana, Colorado, New
Mexico, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Nevada, Tennessee, Vermont, Idaho,
Wyoming and West Virginia.
