Well thats fine, I'm ok with that, I just think we need to treat the poor better in this country in general. But right now we have a system where if a crack baby needs a liver transplant, and an 80 year old needs a liver transplant, the senior will get it and the baby not. To me that is nuts. I can't tell you how many people don't have healthcare that I know... and yet they are paying for others to get it, who may or may not need it. I just think we need a major overhaul of this system. BTW I don't know how they came up with age 65 but my sense is that life expectancy has improved pretty dramatically since SS was instituted, we really should be raising that age by a few years.

Those over 65 were forced to retire to make way for the Baby Boomers. The salaries were meager to say the least. They were also only permitted to pay FICA Tax on up to $6,500 of their
salary, and no more. Most were lucky to earn $20,00 annually. Their Employers gave them this grandiose Retirement Package and they could only collect in the vicinity of $150.00 pensions from the Corp.the additional came from SS. Many of these Fortune 500 Corp. disappeared and left them without pension funds. The good old Feds allowed this to happen...SD
