I understand your feelings, but somehow I just can't think about Y2K as a non-event.

A pain in the tuckus?? Yeah.. but not a non-event.

And as Asian governments wake up to how little they have tried to understand the issue and how it could impact them, if not physically, then psychologically (with regard to capital flight), it could get ugly.

The only reason that most of us can feel reasonable assured is that many companies have taken the Y2K issue seriously here in the US, whether voluntarily or through client coercion.

It is just this uncertainty that seems to keep all of us from not feeling secure enough not to worry just a bit.

Btw, I do seem to recall seeing that commercial.
