The Media Metrix number of unique Internet users is probably wrong. AOL alone has that nearly that many, and AOL has a 50 share.

One would expect the yr/yr number of unique users to decelerate, because of the laws of big numbers. Media Metrix measures only US usage, so at some point a topping process in different users is inevitable.

What these individuals do with their time is important. Page views are growing faster than users, and it's important to invest in companies that are growing faster than internet usage.

Then you must drill down farther. The commercialzation of the internet has lagged usage. Yahoo is 15% sold out. There is plenty of revenue and margin upside left if growth in unique users stopped completely, which it is nowhere close to doing.

Finally, there is international usage, which Media Metrix doesn't survey.
