By your premise, the fetus has a soul and is an individual, otherwise it would not go to heaven. Therefore, there is no difference between arguing for abortion on that "clever" basis, and arguing for infanticide...

Again, there is no need to argue this on a religious basis. I do not draw on religious doctrine for my belief that there is no sufficient reason to abort a child. Inconvenience doesn't do it for me. Nor does the argument that a woman has the right to do what she wishes with her body. Once conception occurs, there is another body within her body with its own DNA, and its own destiny. When "my body" creates "another body" (albeit small) we are no longer simply talking about my right to do with my body as I wish.
