Hi Bob,

I started pulling silver from my pocket change in 1968. I have tons of Walking liberties, Franklin and '64 Kennedy halves and Kennedy 40% halves.

Rather than the ghost town thing, which sounds like lots of fun, I got into Civil War reenactments. Last weekend I was at the battlefield of Chicamauga and also Franklin, where I encountered some excellent reenacting. Tomorrow I will be at the Civil War encampment in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Yeah, I know, the name sucks, but the town is nice. For my outfit I had to scounge Good Will and thrift stores and yard sales for rough cut shirts, canvass slacks, 100% wool mountain hats, etc. I found some wooden buttons and boiled some black walnut shells and soaked them to stain them with the deeper color. I can even carry an 1854 2¢ piece and some Confederate currency on me. =)

The foundery experience sounds excellent. What a great pasttime to have in your background. --Alan
