Well first of all, if you listed to the crazies here, you will end up classifying everyone to the left of Jesse Helms a liberal. For example I am not a liberal, I just don't like the religious right. So, I can pretty much invest anywhere I please and not feel like a contradiction in terms, I am pro-business. But as for traditional liberals and pretty much anybody actually, I do believe most invest with a conscience. For example I had investment in psft for a long time, a great performer as a company and stock, also very ethical. There are plenty of companies you can invest in with great social awareness! And some in the same industry that are unethical are CA, and some think msft. My point is I think most investors take these issues into account.
