Blodget points out that the average AOL user spent 24 minutes on the site in the month of July. That's flat from the previous month and about half as much time spent on Yahoo and Microsoft.

But when reading on:

Likewise, analyst James Preissler of PaineWebber (Nasdaq: PWJ), notes that AOL will also benefit in the fourth quarter, as subscriber growth kicks in with holiday PC purchases. He also notes that online usage rates go up as the weather gets cooler.

--------------

July and August are the two most heavily vacationed months of the year so a fall off in internet usage is the norm. No big deal.

Whoops!!!! This is fundamental data so I am out of my league in this regard.
