Sorry, should've been more clear. If I can get free isp service in the future. Statement made in anticipation of Microsoft's offering.

I think Microsoft will come through with a very powerful and compelling free service as they did with a top notch browser (which, by the way, for the longest time ran Java MUCH faster than Sun or Netscape's - now defunct - jvm. And for all I know it probably still does.) Microsoft has the money and Gates has the paranoid obsession to defend his turf at all costs.

In following Microsoft, it's interesting to note that they are fighting furiously to avoid the complacency and arrogance that its own competitors have demonstrated in defeat. I have yet to see an organization that goes unscathed after Microsoft declares them 'a threat'.

I'm no Microserf, by the way. In fact I continue to struggle with the question of whether or not the Government should come down hard on Microsoft. Very strong arguments on both sides.
