I've been scanning this thread and the RB thread some the past day rather like a person standing on the side of the road watching a fatal car crash take place.

The level of denial and desperate hope on both is amazing. Lots of talk about "the dream". What was "the dream"? To get rich without doing anything for it, I suppose. People throwing their money away buying pieces of the Hindenberg midway through its plummet to earth and finding themselves down nearly 50% within hours. Pathetic tales of people gambling money they can't afford to lose. People denying that they have a position in the stock, yet reacting emotionally and irrationally at the slightest indication of anything negative.

Fascinating study. When I first came onto SI, I read the Bre-x thread for the same reason, trying to understand the mindset of people who would invest in it in the first place and hold on in the face of clear technical and fundamental clues that something is terribly wrong.

Great short call, Anthony and others, despite all the emotional ravings by those who were sucked into this scam and refused to exit while they could with some semblance of profit or their original investment. I wish I'd known about it because I'd have shorted it too.

EIMS 2000: "...the majority..."? Now where on earth did you get that ludicrous statistic? Have you been polling the neighborhood, or is this right out of the Jerry Falwell Manual of Quick Soundbite Stats???

eims, you are quite far from reality. Ask Anthony. He knows that there is a big difference between what you are saying and what happened up north. Brian

THE ONLY REASON WHY INTERNET GAMBLING WILL NEVER WORK,, (EVEN IF SERVERS ARE LOCASTED OFFSHORE) Because the computers and games are programmed by people and can be rigged in such a way that you never win..or you can be setup using a win win win .lose win lose lose lose lose lose lose lose lose lose lose lose lose lose..Program...

There is no way to regulate the fairness of the games ..I mean who the hell really thinks that you will ever win gambling a on a computer against a compny that sets up its own games in Antigua, Wher is the Gambling Commission of Antigua..anyone have the Number?<--oops there isnt one..Yeah This is as dead as it gets
