I have just returned from Walt Disney World and paid a visit to our cafe at Animal Kingdom.

They did $40 million in revenues the first year, however business is slowing. They recently reduced their work force from five shifts to three. Also, they are having problems with their service. It took a hour and a half to turn our table of four. I have been to MOA, Woodfield, Chicago downtown, Disney Market Place and Sawgrass. Animal Kingdom is by far the slowest. Internally, they have two lines that process food orders and invariably one will crash causing delays in service.

The cafe seats 700 guests. They serve breakfast but this operation does not appear to be very popular. Animal Kingdom is a long way from the resorts.

The business at Animal Kingdom should pick up again starting in October and continue at least through the end of the year. Disney has told Rainforest that all the rooms at the resorts are booked from October through early January.

Rainforest will be changing their menu beginning this October.
