Anyone have a link refering to the percentage of ingredients which the US imports to produce their drugs? (80% comes to mind)

FEATURE-Drug industry moves to calm Y2K fears

DRUG HOARDING 'WOULD THROW THE SYSTEM OUT OF WHACK'

''If everyone were to get an extra month, it would throw (the system) out of whack,'' said Mark Grayson, spokesman for the drug industry trade group Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), which is also part of the alliance. Well done, Maddog, on your interceding, which has apparently, and hopefully, helped solve the Ron-Ken 'tiff' here, once and for all!

On the Ron-Rarebird 'tiff' which you are also trying to help fix, I have a suggestion on that one.

You addressed your request to Rarebird, only. He wasn't the one to initiate that problem either, obviously, so I believe it is incorrect to address your request to Rarebird, or at least to only him, as that may imply that he was the initiator of that problem , or was the 'bad guy' in that case, which he certainly wasn't. So, in the interests of getting both the adversarial parties involved, I suggest addressing your request also to Ron, and also for the purpose of getting both their consents, as you did with us both.

IMHO

Maybe you ought to become the peacemaker- designate of this thread :)

Looks like there is a third 'tiff' for you to fix up also, that three-way female one that occured yesterday, Mr. Peacemaker! <vbg>

The US State Dept. is expected to issue warnings about Russia, Saudi Arabia, and others based on their y2k readiness. They are even discussing the possible evacuation of State Dept personnel and US citizens from these countries. infoworld.com
