to truedog: from C Kahn: Truedog, I'm sorry to hear about your illness. I will pray that the Lord will be with you and your family every step of the way. You know He's been there with you and me, and anybody else who will ask every day of our life. Even when we were ignoring Him, and trying to do things our own way, stumbling, and tripping flat on our face. He would always pick us up, dust us off, wipe the tears from our eyes, tenderly help us to continue on, even in the darkest hours when things seem hopeless. He has patiently and lovingly, been there with open arms, to give us comfort, strength, grace, and peace that passes all understanding. He's been there for you all of your life, and He's not going to leave you now in your time of need. I pray that the Lord who loves you and died for you will pour out His Holy Spirit on you now and give you peace, comfort, and everything else knows you need at this time. You asked me not feel any sympathy because you brought the disease on yourself, and you feel that you clearly do not deserve it. But truedog, we're all human. Not one of us is perfect. So please don't kick yourself about having human failings or weaknesses. Jesus Christ died for all of us, so we could be free from sin, bondage, and guilt about our imperfections. And He would have done it for you if you were the only person on earth. He shed His precious blood and, by the Grace of our Father in Heaven set us free. So I will not feel sympathy, But rather compassion. The kind of compassion and love that I couldn't understand until I had the love of the Lord in my heart. And since I know that the Lord has broken the chains of bondage, I'm also going to pray for healing for your body. Ask and it will be given to you. But also be still and know that God will bring it to pass in His time. He's never too early or too late. So, have peace, knowing this. Keep your eyes on the Love of the Lord, and He will guide you every step of the way. I'm also reminded of 2nd Corinthians 12:9, Where the Lord tells Paul, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." I'll continue to pray for you and your family, and pass the word along to a few prayer-chains I know of. Please let me know how you are doing. I am genuinely concerned.
