Burt, I agree with your thoughts on responding to pointless negativism in general. I certainly would hate to see this message board devolve into the basher/anti-basher clogging which has lately consumed Raging Bull. I think that the format of Silicon Investor is likely to prevent that from happening anyway. Sunspot hardly deserves serious answers since his posts are so shallow, although I confess to having fun with his banal comments. Walter brings up concerns, most unrealistic, occasionally valid. We differ on the net value he brings to this thread. I think that he does do good original DD (e.g., he recently got an admission from an IBM manager that only EPAC is being used in the Madison Project, adding to my previous comment on that subject which came from Lucent). I agree that much of his posting is repetitive and unnecessarily negative or cynical. I don't think he is a conscious "basher" but I have no real way of knowing. I just read and evaluate his posts like I do all the messages here. My personal test for posting a message is (usually, I admit that I violate these "rules" sometimes): 1. Does it add some information or provide an analysis not already present? 2. Is there an area of discussion that needs to be explored by the community here? We are collectively lucky that so many diligent investors post here, on Raging Bull and on Clear Station. It would be ideal if all messages were strictly relevant to the issue of investing in e.Digital, but the nature of these boards is such that they also serve as a social forum and as such lead to wide transgressions from their core mission. We have to pick the wheat from the chaff as a result. Best regards, Jim
