It may. Picture that. MIS and CIO's would brace for the turn of the year and decide to 'freeze' their networks for a couple of months. Then any glitch in the networks could be traced back -imagined or not- to the Y2K. Then there could be a lot of finger pointing regarding who is responsible for the problem. Under this scenario, until the dust settles the market won't return to its pre-Y2K level.

Sometimes I even think that Y2K is 80% marketing gimmick and 20% real threat.

December 31st is my Birthday, I will be back in Brazil for the summer and I will open a bottle and am going to watch this Y2K thing develop.
