It's ironic to see Forbes and Kemp claiming to be "supply-siders" since one leg of President Reagan's economic program was Paul Volker's tight money policy. Reagan's own popularity suffered considerably in the '81-'82 recession, but you never heard him complain about Volker's tough Fed policy. Reagan gave Volker all the free reign he wanted in order to break the back of the inflationary spiral we had been living with.

Looks like Forbes and Kemp are cut from another cloth entirely, and would be trying to exert pressure on the Fed right from the start. So much for the idea of an independent central bank.
