Republicans had no choice, they just went with the tide. The primaries are going to be interesting. I don't remember the last time there were so many candidates from the fringe.

OTOH, I think that the Democrats are making a huge mistake by apparently selecting Gore too quick. One of the reasons that Clinton survived such a vicious attack from the right was because people didn't want Gore to take over the Presidency.

If the Republicans lose the Presidency against Gore in 2000, they have to be really bad. Even a half choked cat could beat Gore in 2000. <g>
