Why dump a best of breed product for an overpriced, underfeatured box that takes twice the space? Btw, you mentioned a while back that you were impressed by the "size" of NN's switch. Do you realize that space is not a commodity with the carriers?

Hey, if it worked, they probably would. But, seriously, what makes you say NN's products take twice the space and are overpriced?

Not so long ago Ascend announced they had a second box, the GX 250, to add to the first. Now I could be wrong, but this appears to require twice the floor space as NN's multi-service 36170.

I don't know about price, but I would imagine there are many factors involved. The sum total is referred to in the industry as Total Cost of Ownership. I don't imagine that's a topic Lucent wants to discuss right now.

Another way of looking at it, is if you put 6 Ascend switches side by sid e, you will equal one of NNs. ( Does LU tell that to their customers? <VBG>
