Greg, one thing I think investors frequently miss about Dell is how QUICKLY Dell learns from its mistakes (if they put out a mediocre effort) or if they are not where they need to be....I am thinking about Gigabuys here (there are other examples).......and look how quickly Gigabuys has been upgraded to a good..and then a great effort....

Who really knows all that the future holds? But, what we do know (is that) there will change involved....and those that are able to adapt will survive (and thrive) for sure.....Dell has built a "high velocity" corporate culture which is vast underestimated (as an asset), IMO...Dell is built for modern (warfare) commerce....unlike many other companies...

Also, what is truly exciting is that Dell appears to really gets this E-commerce thing, the real growth vehicle of the next century (at least 1st half)...Dell has really become one (of the few hugely profitable) leaders of this revolution....For all the accolades of a company like Amazon...they still haven't shown they can make money...or, compare this to Compaq squandering the Alta Vista advantage during 1998....

All (most) companies are going to have their strengths and weaknesses, and many challenges to face....HOW a company reacts to a poor decision, product, etc AND, importantly, AT WHAT SPEED the turnaround takes place is a critical reflection of a management team's ability, and, I think, of any company that wishes to remain a successful long-term investment....One example: It will be interesting to see what/how Disney recovers in the next year/two.....They did it once before under Eisner...Are they still a great company?

I also think of AMD...when are they ever going to learn how not JUST to produce great technology, but en masse, on a consistent basis?? With Sanders, probably never...I supposed there arre thousands of examples..

The world keeps a changin'...You gotta learn to keep changin' (and stay hopefully ahead of it)...Dell seems to do that quite well.....and they don't get enough credit for it, IMO...

Culture is much more important to wealth than any other factor...Why else would such places like Switzerland, Singapore, etc. have acheived (what they have)??

Done preachin' for today...enjoy....
