Hi,

My name's James Tuverson, and I was just brought on board at Activision in the marketing department. One of my main projects is Interstate '82 and I wanted to talk about the game with people who dug I'76 and are looking forward to playing I'82.

I want to set up a program where fans can get information and/or screen shots and/or developer info and/or anything else you want in a quick and easy way. Interstate '82 is well on its way to being complete in time for the Nov 15 release date and I want people who care to know how great this game is.

Can we talk? I'd love to find out if there's anything special I can do to make this game take off. By the way, I'll also be putting together an 'Interstate '82 consumer/fan committee' with substantial rewards for participation.

What do you think? You can reach me at jtuverson@activision.com or 310-255-2248.

Thanks,
James

Topic: Let's boycott BattleZone II !!!!

Several months ago, when the first rumors appeared that BattelZone II would contain only SSE but no 3DNow! optimizations quite a lot of people including me wrote to Activision asking them to make 3DNow! optimizations as well.
I pointed out to them that the K6-2 needs 3DNow! optimizations more urgently than the Pentium III the SSE optimizations for good game play. So they should support at least both instruction sets. The answer was that they wouldn't make ANY special code.

Well, what is now? BattleZone II seems to be perfectly optimized for SSE while it has no 3DNow! code at all. Activision, on its site, blatantly advertises for Intel and points to the "Intel's Owner Club" for more information and the download of the demo.

What the hell??? They don't care about us K6-2/K6-III users. They prefer to be in bed with Intel. So now its OUR turn not to care about Activision and BattleZone II! There are enough other games on the market so we can perfectly ignore this one.

They optimized it exclusively for the Pentium III. So I hope that ONLY P-III owners will buy it...

One last point: Let's not only ignore it. Let's say it openly on the web that we boycott it. Activision should KNOW it. Ignoring all K6-2/K6-III users in the world should NOT pay off for them!

Tony Hawk was on the Fox Files last night,
i had no idea how big Skateboarding has
become. They showed the PSX game, talked
about how much of a guru he is, mentioned
there's 6 million skateboarders in the US,
couldn't of happened to a nicer guy, etc.

The demo is getting rave reviews, the full
game ships this month, along with Quake 2
for the PSX. Only trouble i see is Dino Crisis,
Final Fantasy 8, and WCW Mayhem. At least the
College kids are back in the dorms, hopefully
they will sell the designer brand clothes there
folks bought them and buy some games.
