Tim I use an awesome freeware program called stockvue. You can get it at stockvue.com. I think it will be just fine for you. It let's you print a nice summary to give to your accountant.

Let me know how you like it.

Hi Tim, If you are still using Watley, I believe one of their new data reports will give you exactly what you want.

From the WATLEY.CHAT site, choose Detailed Account info, then a new icon DATA RETRIEVAL (not Query). Then chose P&L trade detail extract. You can indicate any range of dates, and the P&L statement is E-Mailed to you win Wordpad format.

I am looking at a recent monthly statement now and it shows for each stock traded the trade date, qty, amount, commission and profit or loss.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Jim

<<software besides microsoft money to log in day
trades for tax purposes>>
I used Quicken, but found that a big Excell/123 spreadsheet suits me best; I can sort trades and calculate performance (e.g., commissions as % of net, # trades +-, gain per plus trade, loss per - trade, annualized % gain/loss, etc)
Cheers,
ac
