Well Christine, I suppose I have a few choices with this post...
1. I could ignore it.
2. I could respond by calling you some label or cliche' which would be partly true and in so doing create more friction and divisiveness.
3. Or I could try and be amicable and attempt a reasonable dialogue.

But there really isn't any point is there? The fact that nearly every argument you make has to be taken to some personal level, speaks volumes about your ability to critically think. It really is a tired, ugly dialogue technigue of the left Christine. And one which I truly do not care to participate in.

Christine, to be fair, Michael does not have the attitude of "my country right or wrong", and was against the Kosovo operation. He does have the attitude that our country deserves the benefit of the doubt, which is, after all, a great deal of what loyalty is about. On the others, well, I will merely say that one does not have to be a conservative to have supported the nuclear "balance of terror", nor does one have to be a conservative to support nuclear power. Both are considered pretty moderate positions in national politics. The jet skiing matter, I had thought, was mischievous, but I was not paying much attention.....

Whoa hold up a second. What's bad about nuclear power or weapons? The one will allow us to reverse the greenhouse effect while still keeping hospitals brightly lit. The other will come in mighty handy if a wayward cubic mile of steel is plotted on a course intercepting the old home rock.
