It's good to know Ausdauer is well and has not collapsed from downloading an uncompressed high resolution photo I sent him. I was beginning to think I was responsible for his abject silence. Kodak finally has displayed its competition to the 2 mpixel cameras, such as Coolpix 950 and Olympus 2000. It's still klunky looking. I am getting a better understanding of what a digital camera can do well, and why it is inferior in MANY ways to a conventional SLR. For example, you can't see anything on the monitor on a bright day, so you are forced to use a pretty small viewfinder window. And that is not nearly as good as being able to view the picture through the taking lens, at a magnification that allows capturing a truly memorable moment. As for the prints from the images, one will be at a true disadvantage if the printing software is not Adobe Photoshop, or the abbreviated version supplied with SOME printers. Fortunately, the Epson photo 1200 has this software, but there are other less expensive Epsons that don't. Finally, the clarity of the photos is limited, but being able to send them via e-mail, or simply print out selected photos instead of getting prints on everything has a lot of utility and cost effectiveness. If you have a 90-year-old mother who regularly monitors her e-mail, as mine does, you will understand what a pleasure it is for her to see the picture of her great grandchildren show up on the screen. Take that, conventional photography!

No wonder SNDK stock is booming.
