chalu2, was that Face the Nation you saw today where Bauer and others criticized Bush? I saw the preview but couldn't see the show... they also had a subsection "republicans and social issues"... would have loved to have seen that...

On a few of your prior posts, this issue of what someone does in their past, and whether it is "forgiveable" or not. I actually think the stage for that was set in 1992 during the presidential debate that Perot won ("I'm all ears"). Some integrity issues came up with regards to Bush and Clinton... Perot said something like, .. context is important, did this happen when someone was a young man or while they were a senior government official... I think that pretty much sums it up for American's acceptance of these victimless crimes. (your other examples, imbezzlement etc. are not victimless so they would never be forgiven). But vice-crimes, as long as they are considered "youthful indiscretions" are ok these days... the question remains when was Bush high on Coke? If he did it anywhere in the vicinity of his governorship I think this is not going away.

On the cat issue, I think we are up to, maybe, 100 separate cats that Bush has strangled or maimed now. I mean I've read about it multiple times and it can't be the same cat... I think we have a real cat-hater here in this GWB person...

chalu2, I checked out the website. And I can see that John McCain could very well be what our country needs. A man with strength of character, integrity, and sensitivity to the fact that flexibility is needed to deal with the many different issues facing the people of our country. It's unfortunate that he doesn't have an "Ace in the hole" famous family name. Thanks for the info. C Kahn
