I recall someone wanted to get my authorization to reprint a post. I was told by Jill that posts were the property of the poster. Although that was some time ago. Maybe it's changed.

WOW! Talk about a disincentive for useful information. I wonder if SI has writers culling it's threads to grab the good stuff and put it into books. Thinke about it "The Best of SI". How many members do they have? That'd be how many book prospects they'd have (at least). Makes people considering doing books or articles for pay think twice about what they post. Probably a good case for putting a very general concept up with a link to a private webpage with as much detail as the author cares to offer.
