8/22/99 - Novell Australia/NZ Outperforms Parent Company In Q3


SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, 1999 AUG 22 (Newsbytes) -- By David Frith, Computer Daily News. Novell Australia and New Zealand has outperformed its parent company, recording a 38 percent increase in revenue for the company's third quarter.

No dollar amounts were revealed but local managing director Cliff Smith said: "Sales for the first three quarters of our fiscal year are up 24 percent year on year", with education-licensing programs and consulting services the stand-out performers.

Parent company Novell Inc. [NASDAQ:NOVL] on Friday revealed a 20 percent jump in revenue for the third quarter at US$327 million.

Earnings of 14 cents per share were double the seven cents reported in the year-earlier period.
