This chart of Nikkei looks good we have two closes above key 18000 level, possibly we are moving higher to 19600 and may hit 21000 if we see a repeat of 195 July move.. The way yen is strengthening and Japanese bonds are bid I would think that Japanese market is not corelated with the US, in this kind of situation I find double benefit one is well placed to take advantage of a good run in a depressed market turning around, on the other you are well hedged against volatility expected in the US market due to lack of co-relation between US and Japan..The higher volatility expected in US from now to late Sept can be still addressed by a longish stance somewhere else.... You don't have to be only short to make money if US corrects, in situations like this one can be long in an unlrelated index. We have been in Sony for long time and I once highlighted that stock as my one good idea, it has taken some time but it looks this is one good break..
