Frankly, I'd never heard of PBA's either, and I think it's an issue that got stirred up so the Delay wing of the party could be shown to be "doing something" in the abortion area. I also agree that a party that is so rigid as to not even tolerate members in the party who may disagree on important issues risks marginalizing itself. McCain is an inclusionist, and is shunned by the radical leadership. I have suspicions that Elizabeth Dole is even sympathetic to the pro-choice arguments, but would never dare say that. Have you read People magazine yet? There is a very interesting story on Newt Gingrich's affair. Aides are quoted as saying that they always marvelled at how restrained Newt was in his criticism of the President, and now they have some explanation! The rascal had a few secrets of his own. This is why I have always thought moralizing is the least attractive aspect of the Republican party. So many do not practice what they preach.
