It's difficult to disagree with that statement. As is said is Deuteronomy: "Justice, justice, thou shalt pursue." This is why I always refuse to accept "life is unfair, so get over it" arguments when I spot an injustice or an unfair preference. To accept injustice is to institutionalize it.

Republicans always criticize other Republicans, and Democrats criticize other Democrats. That's part of a healthy political process. There were Democrats here in New York who could not stand former Mayor David Dinkins (arguably the worst modern mayor of any major city; I'm excluding Marion Barry because I don't consider D.C. a real city). Should they have kept quiet for fear of weakening the Democrat party in New York? They did not keep quiet, the party was weakened, and thank God for that! I think our allegiance is to the country first, and then to the party. JMHO.
