But surely the sideways push would not be as great as the downward push. As the sideways push would be greater for the lower
layers of stones due to the greater vertical pressure, surely special adjustments regarding initial sizes of the stones and gaps between them for each layer would have to be calculated very carefully to preclude instability. Surely great intelligence and planning were required!!!

It seems the Great Pyramid (the one at Gizeh???) was constructed to be a special monument. To some believers, its various dimensions like height, length of an edge, length of a slope, angles of slope, base perimeter and the number of steps from the King's Chamber to the "Bottomless Pit" and the original alignments of open passages to the "Dog Star" Sirius and to Orion all have special significance. Others simply marvel at the mathematical relationships they seem to bear to pi (mathematical constant), the various dimensions of Earth and other mundane characteristics.
