Most of us dealt with the initial hypothetical by imagining possible contexts, aiming at reconstructing how such a situation might actually work. At this point more stipulations appeared, and more, to a point at which it became clear that the intention was to narrow the field to the point where only one answer was possible. The more possibilities we imagined, the more stipulations appeared to block them. I lost interest. I grew up arguing (I suspect that it shows); I argued with academics, not lawyers, but I imagine that the tactics and the situations were similar.
