Neo, I don't blame you for wanting to have an opinion about everything, but after your revelation of your feelings about the rural life this weekend, I am surprised you should venture an opinion about farming.

Just consider the many different kinds of farming. In a competitive society, the most profitable form of business survives while the less profitable perish. Walmart takes over while mom and pop perish. In cash grain farming there is tremendous excess capacity. The family farmer who owns most of his land can make losses year after year, while a corporate farm would have to shrink and go out of business.
Wait a few years until 2/3 of these guys are gone and corporate farms will no doubt take over. Some of them will be farmers who did noit expand and waited until everyone went bust.
