levy, I said Russ could not score on me which was just a little trash talking. In all fairness I should be on his team given that I am a Stockholder. You will notice I made the corner kick to Keister so we had to be on the same team. I am getting more comfortable with the new and improved SI. I was recently on vacation and found it to offer many of the same things I take for granted when I am in the office. I am not exactly sure how the SI/Multex arrangement will work but I use Multex and had to go through an "entitlement" process where I indicated which brokers I pay and then I can access their research. They also offer some "ala carte" offerings where you can pay by the piece for research you want to download. We also use First Call and there is a bit of redundancy between the two; I am used to having a small "N" show up next to tickers on my screen when there is news out on either FC, the dow or reuters "tape". I like to run off on Multex the original analyst report which would include earnings models; First Call's "notes" product usually does not include the entire report and is more for text and usually does not include any type of spreadsheet. First Call also has a "Research Direct" which essentially offers you the same thing as Multex-the original research including spreadsheet attachments. As far as timeliness goes, I think you simply have to be a client of the various brokerage firms and then you can access the research pretty much as soon as the next guy. Both Multex and FC Research Direct are just places to go with all the research in one location instead of accessing the individual brokers home pages and then moving to the next etc, etc. Hope you can follow that. In any case the new SI is a powerful tool and the advantages the big boys have over the little guy continues to narrow. Information is not knowledge though and I would hope the more serious of the small investors on main street continue to learn about basic accounting, corporate finance principles, rudimentary TA/Charting, valuation criteria, etc. As far as other data vendors, I would hope that GNET/SI management have talked to or checked out Primark's (PMK-NYSE) BASELINE product as I am a big fan of it. Nuff said. Please welcome to following folks to Team GO2Net. No doubt a few index funds but certainly some notable active managers. Look for more mid cap funds to add to the stock-too bad the market cap is too high for many true small cap players at this point. NotaclosetindexerNeiderhoffer
