Of course he should answer the charges. But that doesn't make the answer to every question--"we can do that, but first Clinton has to answer the charges." One thing has nothing to do with the other.

Why shouldn't an accused rapist answer the charges?

I thought he'd denied it.

If he hadn't denied it but simply said "I haven't raped anyone in X years", it would be treated as an admission and would be front page news.
