You're right on MCI/WCOM's deplorable lag in addressing the outages.

You're also right about speed/service/manageability issues. Imagine racing a Ferrari without brakes--- or experienced pit crew?

As for tomorrow's earnings, I think most are expecting NN to meet. I'm quite sure the co's kept a lid on any upside expectations. That's not to say it won't happen. Only that they didn't want to step into a noose of someone else's making.

I'll be extremely pleased if they meet the top line and beat by a penny or two on the bottom.

Not only that, but the 'fix' was to go back to the earlier version of the software. Moving in the newest version is still in the future - and who knows - may repeat the failure..
