OT**Doug B,

Again, as a liberal artisan, I am grateful for your insights into both the laws of physics and the current research in the field.

Your description of a parallel universe both intimidates and intrigues me.

First, I am intimidated by a world devoid of wool. Not that I am attached to the material itself; but rather, I am passionate about the beast that produces it. I can not imagine a world where one's mint jelly is accompanied by beef or veal. (N.B., I would not even mention the other white meat, as it is served exclusively with Mott's All Natural Applesauce.)

Second, I am intrigued by a world populated by 'one-of-a-pair-socks.' It would be interesting to note if the parallel human population has evolved to compensate for a world with no matching pairs. Could this be a race of one-legged humanoids? Better to have only one leg than to suffer the public humiliation of being seen in public with a gauche mismatch. Would they propel themselves in a pogo stick-like fashion or would they, without introducing gender specific anatomy, incorporate their hands?

All interesting points. Many thanks.
