I think that that is a reasonable response, my only misgiving being one that I before stipulated: it is the business of the opposition to attack, and ours to defend, unless the story advances further than it has so far done...But I will not hold your feet to the fire on that, unlike Bill....

My position on this is mostly what Neocon has laid out. The press has set a standard for acceptable behavior by a president when it did not interrogate Clinton about his rape. I don't think the press needs to ask Bush about anything less serious than rape. And he should not need to answer.
