Yeah, I know the GPS vs. Loran deal.

I know where you can buy a pile of old King KLN-88s for less than the cost of a KLN89A GPS unit which easily replaces it...

GPS actually makes a lot of sense for regionals, who are often able to fly quick direct legs between airports and somewhat lower altitudes than the big jets. Especially useful if flying non-precision or visual approaches. GPS is just made for that stuff.

All of which is getting off topic. The system works, and will continue to do so. Other than Japanese drivers with faulty old systems, there seems to have been no impact.
