Adam, Re: "...$931...$1,980...$3,692"

I like that part too!!!

Don't forget to multiply each of those numbers by EIGHT for each unit!!!!

INTC x 8 inside = tidy profits

Adam,

I like this part:

"In 1,000-unit quantities, the Pentium III Xeon processor 550 MHz with 512 KB L2 cache costs $931, with 1 MB L2
cache costs $1,980, and with 2 MB L2 cache costs $3,692."

Yes, gotta love those prices. Also, some server manufacturers I know go right to the biggest L2 cache versions without batting an eyelash. No scrimping when it comes to server performance.

Tony

Re: the Pentium III Xeon processor 550 MHz...

C'mon, aren't you guys just a little disappointed that they couldn't get the Xeon to run any faster than 500MHZ till next month? And the versions with big cache won't be out till the fall. I guess AMD is facing a real challenger for the Pre-announcement crown :-)
