Nickel by the sea

Australian Nickel Conference to be held on September 12-14, 1999.

The Northern Miner, Mining Journal of London, African Mining from Johannesburg are among the sponsoring publications.

Interesting to see what information come out of it.

Wonder if Ted is attending?

Geoff, I linked over to hot copper in Oz, that Aurum had posted. There is a post that says that it took Sherrit 10 years to work out production issues at Moa Bay. Is that in keeping with your info, and do you think that portends anything in regards to how long it will take dry laterites to produce.

Indonesia seems a pretty risky business to me politically, maybe I'm wrong.

Is there anything to the theory that Inco will use some sort of hydromettallurgy on the VB deposit and therefore does not need a smelter in Argentia or Sudbury?

Thanks in advance. If you know about start up problems at Moa, were they similar to current Oz problems, shock tubes, etc. I think the desalination problems are specific to Oz.
