Knight/Trimark Group Inc. is a market maker in NASDAQ securities, other over-the-counter (OTC) equity securities, and equity securities listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the American Stock Exchange in the Third Market.

Not sure what to make of the following data points, but here's what my research has found for June quarter data:

NITE traded 21.3 billion shares total (quarterly earnings press release); of this 6.2 billion was NASDAQ (from Nasdaqtrader.com), 6.7 billion was OTCBB (from otcbb.com), leaving 8.4 billion unaccounted. Hard to fathom that they would have that much on NYSE and AMEX, but who knows. Maybe NYSE volume is more important that some people think.

I am unsure of NYSE volume. I tried to do some counting of OTC and NASDAQ volume using the sites NASDAQ Trader and OTC Trader. I then subtracted the number to come up with Other. Other is the largest of the three. Also the number I get from these sites is understating what is on the NITE website. Therefore I am losing shares somewhere?
