* Optibase's MPEG MovieMaker Encoders and MPEG ComMotion Software Enables Intline.com to Deliver Customised Internet Broadcast Content to Niche Markets

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Optibase, Inc. (NASDAQ: OBAS), a leader in broadband digital video networking solutions, today announced that Intline.com, an integrated Web development company, has selected Optibase's MPEG MovieMaker encoders and MPEG ComMotion streaming media software to be part of its integrated Web solution. Intline's integrated Web solution combines the functionality of a search engine, integrated proprietary e-mail and broadcast content under a single umbrella.

Addressing vertical market needs

"The time has come for the Web to deliver on its promise of a truly integrated experience," said Ran Eisenberg, CEO of Optibase. "We are delighted to join Intline.com in this pioneering effort to bring digital video to the Web for applications such as e-commerce, distance learning, and innovative 'made-for-the-Internet' programming."

Intline.com's vision is to unite the most useful functions on the Web - search engine, information, news, entertainment and e-commerce - to meet the needs of commercially active vertical markets. The company plans to deliver custom programming specifically produced for Internet broadcast. Some of Intline.com's programs that are currently in development are: FutureTech, a venue for the ever changing technology of tomorrow; e-Commerce Today, a practical guide for merchants and consumers for shopping and selling online; and the Digital Kitchen, an entertainment-based culinary event recorded at finer restaurants around the world.

Getting maximum performance

"Our applications demand the best MPEG compressed video available in the streaming market. Based on my experience over the past five years, Optibase has shown that its hardware and software solutions provide exceptional compression, high reliability and seamless integration with today's leading streaming equipment manufacturers," said Thomas Doty, president of Intline.com. "Optibase has proven to be a leader in digital video networking technology, and we're elated to have such a forward- thinking company as a technology partner."

The Intline.com video solution uses Optibase MPEG MovieMaker encoders to support multi-channel video streaming from bit rates ranging from 300Kbs to 1.5 Mbps. The video streaming and transmission process is managed by Optibase's MPEG ComMotion software. Streams are transmitted to specialised smart video servers where they are both unicast and multicast across terrestrial, satellite, wireless or any other native IP network.
