ProNetLink.com(R) Adds Russian Consortium to its Sales and Development Team
-For release Aug 23, 1999
Agreement Marks Start of Major Russian Initiative
NEW YORK, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- ProNetLink.com (OTC Bulletin Board: PNLK -
news), the first Global Trade Internetwork(TM), today announced that as part
of its continued international expansion it has signed a sales and
development agreement with the Moscow-based firm of Global Management and
Consulting Services (GMCS) Inc. GMCS will handle ProNetLink.com membership
sales, advertising sales, Virtual Trade Show development and will coordinate
and collect Russian-specific content for the ProNetLink.com site. The
agreement marks the start of a major Russian initiative for ProNetLink.com,
increasing the company's presence in a vital global trade market.
In addition to their expert knowledge of the Russian business-to-business
marketplace, GMCS will provide ProNetLink.com members access to the
resources of a consortium of two major Russian economic authorities: The
State Committee of the Russian Federation for Standardization and Metrology
(GOSSTANDARD) and The Federal Center for Project Finance (FCPF).
``GMCS, with the support of GOSSTANDARD and FCPF will make the Russian
market a integral, self-sufficient and effective part of ProNetLink.com's
Global Trade Internetwork,' commented Konstantin Kornev, head of operations
of GMCS Moscow. ``With the Internet developing into a vital global trade
resource, we feel that this partnership represents an excellent opportunity
to bring new business opportunities to the Russian marketplace.'
In cooperation with GOSSTANDARD, GMCS will provide and regularly update
detailed information about various domestic commodities and up to 200,000
Russian businesses. GOSSTANDARD's existing regional network of more than 100
Certification and Metrology Centers throughout Russia positions
ProNetLink.com as the Internet's only resource for fresh data about Russian
manufacturing and significantly enhances the site's database. GOSSTANDARD
will also offer ProNetLink.com access to all currently-used Russian trade
forms and documents in electronic format and provide continual updates as
changes in existing regulations are enacted.
As an added benefit of the agreement, GMCS will negotiate with ITAR-TASS
State News Agency of Russia, one of the five news information giants of the
world, and its partners to provide ProNetLink.com with real-time on-line
information about the current Russian economic environment, important
business events and trade news.
The Federal Center for Project Finance was established in accordance with
the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation in June of 1995. The
main purpose of the FCPF is to work on preparing and monitoring the
implementation of projects sponsored by international financial
organizations or financed by funds from external sources. Their goal is to
implement programs that will provide information to Russian manufacturers
and companies, expand foreign trade opportunities, promote exports and build
information systems that introduce key Russian enterprises to potential
clients.
Spanning 11 time zones and home to more than 150 million people, Russia
possesses tremendous natural and human resources. Demand for imported
consumer goods, capital, equipment and professional services remain
remarkably strong, with imports representing an unusually large percentage
of the national market.
``We see Russia as the ideal market for ProNetLink.com,' said Jean Pierre
Collardeau, President of ProNetLink.com. ``The demand for product is high
and the need to connect the Russian marketplace to the global trade
community is immediate. We have met with trade organizations and firms from
around the world developing our Global Trade Internetwork, and I see great
potential in having a highly regarded firm like GMCS join the ProNetLink.com
team. We welcome Russia on board.'
