William: Re: HP Issues Statement On IA-64 Position...This statement corrects CNET's Aug. 19 report that inaccurately characterized HP's position relative to the IA-64 architecture roadmap and the Merced processor. This fiasco is precisely why corporations have Public Relations/Media Relations groups - a company needs to control the dissemination of its strategic focus, and has to avoid having every presenter at a technical conference spouting his/her own views of what the company should be doing. Corporations are not democratic, and I presume Mr. Clow got a good spanking for speaking out of turn (maybe by Ms. Fiorina herself :-) ). Adam
