Adios, Channel One - (COLUMBIANA) -- Shelby County's school board is literally pulling the plug on Channel One, the satellite news channel designed for high school students and loaded with commercial content. Channel One's relationship with the school system was never on solid ground. There was concern that the commercial content distracted from the news value of the programming. The lid came off when a school board member discovered a link on Channel One's Internet "web site" led directly to a "chat room" for homosexuals.
