Richard Belluzzo is jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. Belluzzo, who resigned Monday as chief executive of troubled high-end computer maker Silicon Graphics (SGI:NYSE), will assume the long-dormant position of running Microsoft's (MSFT:Nasdaq) numerous Internet businesses, according to four sources familiar with Belluzzo's plans, including two who have discussed them with Belluzzo directly.

Irwin, StrongArm I2O revenues, up or down when they go from fixed to per unit basis?

Don't know, but assume from management's tone when discussing this the other day that the answer is up.

Meanwhile, can someone tell me if this is good news:

Liberate Technologies and MediaOne(R) Sign
Definitive Agreement

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., and ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ --
Liberate Technologies (Nasdaq: LBRT) today announced that it has signed a
definitive agreement with MediaOne, the U.S. broadband unit of MediaOne Group
(NYSE: UMG) to deliver enhanced television and Internet services. The agreement
follows the two companies' previously announced strategic partnership as part of
Liberate's $50 million private round of financing, which included four other leading
cable companies: Comcast, Cox Communications, Rogers Communications, and
Shaw Communications.

MediaOne and Liberate will work together on an initial deployment of Liberate TV
Navigator(TM) for DTV and Liberate Connect(TM) DTV Suite for interactive
television. Liberate TV Navigator, which will run on MediaOne's cable set-top boxes,
merges Internet functionality, such as Web browsing and email, with Enhanced
TV(TM) -- TV mail, TV ticker and other ATVEF (Advanced Television Enhancement
Forum) compliant services. Liberate Connect DTV Suite, a services management
platform, provides the foundation for information appliance networks, deploying
applications that support the network operator's distinct services and brand
identities.

"As entertainment, information and access technologies continue to converge,
MediaOne has maintained a leadership position in bringing its customers
next-generation television and Internet services," said Stephen Dukes, vice
president, digital broadband technology at MediaOne Group. "Liberate's open
platform approach fits well with MediaOne's goal of bringing our customers the
latest in enhanced television services through flexible, leading edge technology."

"This agreement with MediaOne accelerates the momentum that we've
demonstrated in recent months, including customer wins with such prominent
network operators as AOL, Cable & Wireless and Comcast," said Mitchell
Kertzman, president and CEO, Liberate Technologies. "With five of the world's
leading cable companies, our successful recent IPO, and a strong partner and
product line-up, Liberate is well positioned for leadership in information appliance
software."
