Carphone for the the traveling sales rep. etc. in US. I see that as a natural for Globalstar as well. Size of handset doesn't matter as it is vehicle mounted, and the cost will be small for many compared to the cost of lost deals when they are out of cellular range on the road. My opinion anyway... We'll soon see.

Regards, Dave

Thanks so much for the welcome and very informative post...I'm a newbie here and own some Q stock, thinking about adding to this and want to start following the story. I've started going back over the past posts and will attempt to get up to speed. I certainly don't want to just start asking folks stuff that have been gone over a million times already! Hopefully, I'm not too pesky. One thing I'll throw in:

<Irid may just go away. My own (very rough) calculation suggests they might need something like 100,000 customers to reach EBITDA breakeven. If they can't get there, then they'll need continued contributions from MOT and the bond-holders>

We have to remember that IRID will most likely be in operation... it's current status is that of one of the Hotels that the RTC took over in the bad old days of real estate excess [so these are the bad old days of telecom excess?], it will keep changing hands at lower prices untill it makes economic sense. In other words the ITDA part of the equation will be adjused downward untill it is operational... unless of course the whole thing is just a flop technically... those handsets are no prize for sure!
